1) Heading - Headline is the most important part of the press release. A proper headline will gather the attention of the journalists. Remember to state the most exciting news, or announcements about the person/company for a events, services, new products etc, in as few words as possible. The main thing to be kept in mind while developing the headline is - it should appeal to the journalist and he should find it interesting enough for the readers. This is press release so focus should be on the readers interest rather than creating some marketing headline of no interest to readers.
2) Sub-Heading - The sub heading forms another important part of the press release after the main heading. They give another opportunity to provide the interesting information to the reporter without providing the actual detail of the report.
3) Body - The body portion of the press release consists of the following
3.a) The Lead Paragraph - This consists of the who, when, what, where and how of the story.
3.b) The Rest Part - This is the place to answer all the claims made and it should also support the information made in the headline. Here you can put quotes from message boards, by taking their permission. You can also mention their title, company's name in the quotes, to add more credibility to the message.
In the next paragraph, describe about your company and it's business.
4) Call for Action
To make your press release more attractive and prompt the readers to make some action, you can provide some call for action statements and prompt them to sign up or something like that.
